Think about something you want to happen or appear in your life, and it shall be yours.

At least, that’s what proponents of the Secret want you to believe.

Apparently, if we trust in the concept of imagining an ideal scenario — with no limits or barriers — somehow the universe will magically and conveniently bring it our way.

In my opinion, there’s a glitch in this mental process. Because fantasizing about the things you want, need, or must have simply isn’t enough.

What am I talking about?

Expecting the universe to deliver your deepest desires to your doorstep can leave you feeling disappointed, frustrated, and resentful.

Using your imagination to conjure up an idealized picture of perfection is mostly about fantasizing. Engaging in this type of mental meandering without a practical basis to work with gives you (and the universe) very little to work with.
